With more than 35 years in business Casa di David is an Amsterdam restauarant landmark.
WIth thsi kind of history it's not a surprise that a book was written about the restaurant; it's called Tavolo 18 by owner Nicoletta Gezzi and it was translated into Dutch by Carolien Steenbergen.

Brasserie Luden is a high quality restaurant with branches at Utrecht, The Hague and Amsterdam.

The building has entrances at both the Spuistraat and the Singel canal; at the latter the restaurant section is located.

In 2011 Dante changed owners and was remodeled into a New York brasserie.

The old art-deco elements stayed and complemeted with marble table tops, wooden chairs and Chesterfield benches.

Meat is prepared on the classic grill.

The restaurant has entrances at both the Spuistraat and the Singel canal.
At the Singel side you can chill in the lounge.

De Sluyswacht: Cozy café at the St. Anthony locks De Sluyswacht - Café Review

De Sluyswacht is a much photographed café as it stands clear on the St. Anthony locks.
Most canal boat tours sail through the locks and many visitors to the Waterlooplein flea market or Rembrandt house will stop at the café.

The café is housed in the former guard house of the locks. The locks were build in 1602 and the house dates from 1695.

The oldest picture of the building is a drawing by Rembrandt, who lived opposite the locks.

L'Opera is a grand cafe at the NE-corner of the rembrandt Square in a kind of Paris cafe setting. It's located in a building called "Het Gouden Hoofd" (The golden Head).

It has a partly covered terras and a cozy interior (first floor included).

Great lunch indoors at wooden tables.

BTW The bathrooms are managed by one of the friendliest ladies I ever encountered in Amsterdam.
