Restaurant Name: ClassiC

Grand Café/Bar/Restaurant/Dancing ClassiC opened in december 2007. The location is central at the market square.
In the past this building was the home for Cosa, Jet Set, de Vier Jaargetijden and grand café XL.
Singer and songwriter Michael Robinson and his daughter Melanie and Arko Bommer are the leading people that started ClassiC.

Restaurant Name: De Buurman

De Buurman (Neighbour) is a bar where you can have a meal as well. In the same building Restaurant De Dragonder is located. The building has a long history (over 125 years).
The building started as a villa for the CEO of the Hengeloosche Bontweverij, Willem Hulshof Pol. In 1923 the buiding is sold by the Rooms Katholieke Werklieden Vereniging St. Joseph and it gets the name "Het Centrum".
After WWII it's trans formed into Hotel Deters until 1975 when the Hengelo counsil decides to pull down the building. After a lot of protests the buiding stays and Radio Oost takes its domicile.
After the station moves to the Westermaat the next transformation takes place: Restaurant Mondriaan, followed in 1996 by the Buurman/Dragonder.

The central part is the bar section; at the sides and half a floor lower is the restaurant part.

The Hengelo streetmarket is held at Wednesdays and Saturdays. There is a small section with fish, fries and the populat Vietnamese loempia's.

It's virtual impossible to go past the small stall with great egg rolls.

Favorite Dish: Loempia's (90 cents).

China Tuin was a big Chinese Restaurant, formerly known as the Pentrop restaurant.

In 2007 it was converted into a Golden Wok restaurant with grill, bake and wok live cooks.

For a fixed price of Euro 18,95 you can eat as much as you want (drinks not included).

Starters: soups and salades.
Main menu: grilled, baked or cooked meat and fish; vegetables, many Chinese dishes.
Dessert: icecream, fresh fruits and cakes.
