The menu is very detailed for both the Italian and the Turksh dishes.

CLOSED: Hengeler Club Restaurant: CLOSED: Trendy in a former factory

The Hengeler Club Restaurant opened in October 2008 in the former Hazemeijer factory building (C05 section), that was transformed into a creative factory, a brewery and a restaurant.
The restaurant has a lounge and an upstairs restaurant part in modern design against the old factory walls.

CLOSED: De Kroon Van Bali: CLOSED: Fresh Indonesian Food

2013 Update: Unfortunately the restaurant closed late January 2013.

Indonesian restaurant De Kroon van Bali opened in november 2012. Owner Frank Ceulen transformed the former caf'é biljart Veltkamp into a great place to eat.

The new name is made up of two parts: De Kroon, a former hotel, that was one of the location options; and Bali, the name of a former Indonesian restaurant at Hengelo, but that closed 30 years before.

I visited the place a week after the opening. The staff was very enthousiast and the management had overcome most of the challenges they faced after having enormous numbers of visitors in the first days of opening. They know what has to improve and will work hard on that.

In that first week a try-out menu was served and the next challenge is the full menu with over 50 special Indonesian dishes with meat and fish.

Owner Frank who used to prepared his deliceous meals for a smaller number of friends, now sees his variety of tastes being multiplied in the restaurant.

De Heerlijckheid is a Bistro-restaurant that was started in September 2012 by Wouter Curré.
It is a continuation of the former Bistro C'est si bon, that now only excist at the neighbouring town of Enschede.

Restaurant Grand Café Stravinsky: The living room of Hengelo

estaurant Grand Café Stravinsky is at the crosspoint of the busiest Hengelo streets. It's groundlevel interior is known as the Living room of Hengelo, cozy or better "gezellig" (in good Durch).

The terras has 130 seats; the inhouse restaurant has 75 seats.
The Chef was Berry Thüss, but he went to Paviljoen De Ontmoeting.

In 2012 the building was completely renovated.

Kami Sushi: Chinese transformed into a Mexican & now Japanese!

The well known Chinese restaurant Hong Fong went out of business. The new tenants transformed the place into restaurant "De Mexicaan".

... and in March 2012 the Japanese restaurant Kami Sushi replaced the Mexican.

The Japanese restaurant is an all you can eat buffet restaurant.
