Record Gallery - Interior
Record Gallery is the best record shop I found in Brussels. Next to a nice selection of mainstream records, there are many smaller special collector ones, stowed away everywhere. To me the section around the stairs was most interesting.
The owner has a lot of knowledge and will help you in any way he can.
What to buy: Special items off the main stream (Radio, TV or movie ones).
Address: Beursstraat 26 - B-1000 Brussels
Directions: Opposite the Beurs.

De Slegte (at the left) - Brussels
It was a little strange to find De Slegte bookstore at Brussels. It was not my goal to travel to the belgium capital to find Dutch shops, but I encountered some.
Well, De Slegte is not a bad place to visit, even in Brussels. As usual we walked out with a couple of books.
The store is a real De Slegte one. The inventory is spread over multiple floors and rooms, not a straight interior, but one with many corners and hidden spaces.

What to buy: BOOKS!

Galery Royales St. Hubert

Neuhaus Chocolates
The Neuhaus shop is a must for chocolate lovers.
This shop has been in town from 1857 and was started as a pharmacy by Jean Neuhaus from Neuchâtel. Soon the shop was turned over in a pharmaceutical confectionery with cough sweets, but after more experimeints he created the perfect sweets.
In 1895 the shop was coverted into a confiserie and chocolaterie by Frédéric Neuhaus, Jean's son.
In 1912 Jean Jr. perfected the pralines, chocolates with special fillings.
What to buy: Pralines.

Hors serie - first floor
Hors-Serie is not only a record shop. In fact you have to find your way to the first floor to find the albums. Icannot remember buying any item here. Most of it was main stream or not to my interest.
In the rest of the shop also books are sold and other collectables.
Address: Zuidtraat 67 Rue du Midi - B-1000 Brussels
Directions: 2 blocks SW of the Grote Markt/Grande Place

Arlequin
This shop is just a few houses from Manneken Pis.
At the back there a nice selection of good quality records, but somehow not too many to my likings. I guess most gems are already sold and new ones have yet to come in.
For the rest it's an interesting store with much more, so peek in.
The shop specialises in: Rock, Pop, Jazz, Industrial, Rare Groove, New Wave, French, Electro, Indie and Sixties imports.

Nieuwstraat window
The Nieuwstraat or Rue Neuve is located at the North side of the center. It stretches from the Muntplein or Place de la Monnaie till the Kruidtuinlaan or Boulevard du Jardin Botanique (metrostop Rogier plein or Place Rogier).
There are many clothing shops, boutiques and large department stores and the City 2 Mall.
In the weekend nights the street is use as a makeshift street parking for restaurant visitors.
A nice detour is the Noord Passage or Passage du Nord; a covered shopping side street.
What to buy: Everything you forgot to pack, There even is a HEMA shop!
Address: De Nieuwstraat/Rue Neuve
Directions: Between Muntplein and Rogier plein.
