|  | Promontorium Magnum Cobo da Roca is the Westernmost point of the European continent.
The site is located 42 kilometers North West of Lisbon and 18 kilometers West of of Sintra. The area is part of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. The Cabo da Roca cliffs rise ~140 meters above the Atlantic Ocean sea level.
Near the stone plaque are a parking and a shop where you can buy visitors certificates and stamped envelopes.
In 1772 at the highest point a lighthouse was constructed, rising 144 meters above sea level. |
