Remnants of the soldiers
From the sky

This place used to be an open prison camp in the past. Prisoners that fled just died in the Chaco, either from lack of water or killed by animals. The surroundings of the village were made up by cactus trees of up to 5 meters and a lot of sand. The heart is made by the miltary with typical officer houses. The prisoners worked in a stone factory and constructed a theater and a zoo to name a few projects, In the 1980s a 4 km huge concrete runway was constructed. It was said that this is one of the backup landing facilities for the space shuttle (not confirmed). The area around the village is changed by rural development by Mennonites and cattleowners (who burned the bush down). In the 1990s asphaltation of the road to Asuncion was completed and the village now has a power line connection and a microwave link too. Next to the village there is a small settlement of original Indians.
