Lloyds Passage: In between the department stores

The Lloyds Passage is a covered walkway with shops and cafe's at either side.

The Sögestrasse is the obvious street going from the Marktplatz to the train station.

It still has some of the traditional shops of Bremen (like a hidden konditorei).

The pig statues at the end of the street are a public attraction.

The Obernstrasse is Bremen's main shopping street.

This is an ever busy street with 3 tramlines running from Domsheide/Am Brill during daytime.

The Kaufhof department store is newer than the Karstadt one.
Still it misses the atmosphere and the maze Karstadt offers.

Karstadt: The biggest department store

Karstadt is the biggest department store at Bremen.
As far as I can recall it's there next to the market.

It has a great buffet restaurant.
The Musik Laden CD store in the basement is fabulous.

What to buy: Whatever you want; it's all there.

Thalia: Books

The Thalia Bookshop was unknown to me until I revisted Bremen at the end of 2005.
There are 3 branches at:

-S?gestrasse 36
-Alter Dorfweg 30-50

Directions: The 2 Altstadt branches are close to each other in Bremen's main shopping street.
You cannot miss them.

Hot Shot records: Records and CD's

At first this was a dull shop. Beware, when you enter at streetlevel, you only will encounter uninteresting material in a small space.

DO GO UP to the first floor and you will be busy for the next 2 hours.

It's impossible to leave without a purchase.

What to pay: From Euro 1.00 for a second hand record to normal prices for the latest CD's.
