Santiago from above | Moon over Santiago from the mountains |
The sea of lights of Santiago seen from top of Cerro Provincia, at 2751 meters above sea level, and 2100 meters above the average altitude of the city. Most of central and uptown Santiago can be seen, but this is only one third of the whole metropolitan Santiago span. In the far right is the international airport and the Coastal Range that separates Santiago from the coast, while the darker "islands" are the smaller hills (San Cristobal, Manquehue, La Piramide, etc.) that dot the city here and there.
I used a Nikon FM2 and a 20 mm. lens for the city scape, and a 600 mm. Nikkor telephoto for the double-exposure shot of the Moon. Film was Kodak Ektachrome EPP 100 Professional slide film. |
