Welcome to my Zante(Zakynthos) vt page.It was my once and only visit to Greece and I have from it some very happy and fond memories,some of which I would like to share with you my fellow VT'ers as well as give a little insight to the island itself

Shipwreck cove

We normally travel to the Algarve region of Portugal around this time of year but decided to try somewhere that we had never been before, not long after we chose the resort of Tsillivi in Zante as this was August wewere prepared for some really hot weather and what we got when we were there was a big shock,and I mean a big shock because on the second day we had thunderstorms torrential rain the first the island had seen for 4 months to the extent where our apartment was floodedout and on the morning of our last day came the real big shock at 8:30am we had an earthquake that measured 6.4 on the richter scale ,fortunately for us we were 120mile south of the epicentre which was 12 mile out to sea off the island of levkos but was felt as faraway as Italy Sicily and Athens.
