My name is WELCOME,BEMVINDO,BIENVENIDOS,Wil kommen Whats in a name? Robert,Rob,Bob. From the old english meaning "bright flame" Good natured, friendly and outgoing with a great sense of humour. He has great energy. Craig; This name has a local Scottish origin, bieng taken for someone who lived on or near to a steep or precipitous rock.In the 15th century there were no less than three families who claimed to "be of that ilk".Early records mention "HUDDE DE CRAG"in the 1260 assize roll of Lancashire. From William the lions reign onwards, and, in the 15th and 16th century it was particularly common in the Edingburgh district. The motto for Craig is"Virtue lives after death". The picture was taken in mid winter at sunset about 3-30 in the afternoon near my home in Co.Durham looking through the old winding wheel from Burnhope pit. This has been restored as a monument to the miners who lost thier lives here. |

Future travels One of the problems I had when I was younger ,was that I had the time to travel but could not really afford it. Now however I have a business here in the U.K. to run so I do not really have a great deal of travel time.Nonetheless we have just been to visit Natal,Rio and the Amazon in Brazil I am returning to Zante in August and Venezuela in September. We have not planned anything yet for our birthdays in mid June but we are considering possibly Southern Ireland(not Dublin though),Berlin or possibly returning to Norway as this will only be a 3-4 day thing don't really want to go too far-any suggestions VT'ers bear in mind we like walking scenery wildlife and history. |
My car Here a photo I took of my new car parked at Carter bar which is the border between Scotland and England.I know it's of no interest to anyone but it is my mainmode of transport throughout the U.K. |
