Verona

by Irato - last update: Jul 20, 2003

<FONT COLOR="#004080">I’ve been to Verona several times. I enjoyed my first visit and then, living in Bologna I used to drop in there.

Even though old Verona is very small you find here few treasures of Italy. And it’s not so overwhelming like Florence or Rome.

Verona is famous of its roman remains and medieval splendor. And is beautiful located along Adige river.

And Verona is famous because of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”.
As far as I know the real house of Romeo and the real house of Juliet doesn’t exist. But, to be honest, I don’t care.

I’ve seen the famous balcony and statue of Juliet few times. She seems to be very important for Verona. And what about Romeo? There's so-called Romeo's house, but nobody goes there. No famous statue, no tomb. Strange. And unfair ;) LOL
