Richardson, a suburb of Dallas Richardson, Texas, is a suburb of Dallas, Texas. Although Richardson was originally a farming community some 13 miles north of Dallas, by the 1950s, it had become part of the greater Dallas metropolitan area.
Richardson is the home of the Telecom Corridor, a term invited by the local Chamber of Commerce to refer to an area populated by businesses focused on the telecommunications industry. For this reason, Richardson hosts offices for Northern Telecom, Bell Northern Research, and other companies. |
| | Wildlife in Richardson Richardson is definitely the suburbs, but there is still wildlife (i.e., the four footed and winged kind) that passes through here.
Here is a mating pair of hawks in a tree outside my house in the Spring of 2006.
Look at the travelogues for more photos of wildlife literally in my backyard(!) |

Wonder if the Texas squirrel can compare to the California ground squirrel that drives rattlers away. | Agraichen Wed Jul 4, 2007 05:08 UTC Your back yard critters are as plentiful as we have. The burrowing owls are taking over most all "spare lots." | katezr Tue Apr 17, 2007 04:10 UTC Hi again Bill. I live in a neighboring state but I've never yet been to Texas (there, I admitted it!). It will happen one of these years though, and I'm sure I'll find a lot to like in that state :) I hate to be judgemental... I hope you forgive me. |
