As surely the whole planet knows, Pompeii was one of the Roman cities near Naples that was destroyed by the volcanic eruption.

While this site cannot begin to compare with some of the Pompeii sites here at VT, it serves to express my impressions of this historic city...

Pros and Cons

Pros:Not too many Roman cities still around...
Cons:A long day trip from Rome...

Thanks 4 tip on Pompei night tours. I hope to get back to Italy & visit Pompei this time, and I didn't know you could view at night.
