"A Bus Ride in the Rain" Lisbon by kaloz

I kind of feel like a cheater. My time in Lisbon was a transfer from the boat to the airport. It was the only day of rain on this trip. From what I saw out the window of the bus Lisboa is an interesting place and worth a proper visit, but I had to fly back to the states as my holiday time was over.

Lisboa has a long history of cable cars, you will see these rails in many of the streets with the cables overhead supplying power to the coaches.

Praça do Comércio

As we traveled the coast road before heading for the airport we passed by the Praça do Comércio. Just one of the many sights that made me wish that I had more time to spend before heading home.

Lisboa Airport

The airport in Lisboa is a different experience than airports in the USA. In the USA the planes pull up to gates at the terminal. Here in Lisboa, we boarded shuttles to take us to where the planes were staged. We were warned not to smoke as there had been a fuel spill, but not to worry as there was a crew out there mopping it up. I swear, I am not making this up.
