Getting TO/AROUND: Getting around the Philippines is both easy and hard. On the brighter note, flight and boat connections between the various islands are usually more frequent than in the neighbouring island nation of Indonesia or in the South Pacific. On the other hand, the roads here are among the worst in South-East Asia! Overland journeys can be surprisingly long and uncomfortable even by bus. On smaller roads, you may well have to use the Philippines trademark jeepneys. These tend to leave only when (truly) full - take it as a not-to-be-missed part of the colorful Philippine experience! ;-)
