I love Flagstaff

by FROGandFLY - last update: Aug 15, 2004

One of the only days it really snowed

Why I'm here

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona, but I currently live in Flagstaff, Arizona, so that I can go to Northern Arizona University. I am currently studying Elementary Education. (Yes, I have changed my major, much to the surprise of people who know me. I've traded the microscope and beaker for chalk and snotty noses.)

I really like to snowboard, which is another reason why I live here. However, Flagstaff does not have the best snow seasons. They are working on being able to make snow, so that snow seasons will be a little bit better with the amount of snow we get.

Flagstaff is Unique in Arizona

When people think of Arizona, they don't think of how much of it is covered in forest. They think of sand or gila monsters. I really like Flagstaff because of how different it is from other places in Arizona. I have come to love the northern country, almost more than the desert. However, one thing is for sure; whether it is the desert or the forest, both are very dry. In fact, Flagstaff is located in what is considered an arrid desert.

Pros:"It's a small town (in a lot of ways), with the nicest people, but with everything that the big cities have."
Cons:"Snow seasons aren't very dependable :("
In A Nutshell:"The best place to go to school, and live."

Thanks for the Flagstaff tips. I'm planning stopping there on a cross-country trip this summer.

My best memory of Flagstaff was the Little America Hotel. Stopping there for lunch on the way back from Phoenix to LHC. Taking the scenic route after driving down to Phoenix the otherside who would believe there is "green" in AZ.

Macy's is a wonderful place, great sandwiches and everything else. Say hi to Tim at Macy's. Actually he probably wouldn't remember me - but my cousin is Max and I passed thru town in 1992.
