Favorite Thing: Walk to the sights starting at the Spanish Steps to the Parliament, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori, Campidoglio, The Roman Forum and the Colosseum. Grab a map and walk all these places pretty easily the whole day, stopping at cafes and restaurants whenever hunger strikes.
Fondest Memory: Sitting in front of the Spanish steps at midnight when it was practically deserted. Cold because it was February but absolutely romantic!

Favorite Thing: Go see another beautiful church...Sta. Maria in Trastevere! Around the piazza are restaurants and bars and it's fun at night.

Favorite Thing: After walking in the rain and the cold we did get soaked and finally decided it was time to hail a cab. My friend had a cold but was such a good sport and walked to all the sights with me. I finally took pity and spared him from the walk back.

Favorite Thing: Sit outside and enjoy Piazza Navona while having something good to eat whether at night or during the day...at night it's more romantic but during the day it's more alive with people walking around and artists painting.

Favorite Thing: There are always a lot of tourists hanging our on the Spanish Steps. That's what I loved most about Rome...everywhere you go people just looked happy to be there.

Favorite Thing: While trying to follow the detailed map I had of Rome, I still ended up in a street away from where I originally wanted to walk to. Best thing about getting lost, though, is that we end up seeing sights that are originally not in the list of our "must sees". This pretty pic was taken from Ponte Sisto. Should I have turned the other way and snapped another picture, I could have had a picture of Isola Tiberina which is a little island on the river that, if I'm not mistaken because I read it somewhere, was a place where they isolated the sick when a plague hit Rome centuries ago.

rdney99 Wed Jul 9, 2008 11:23 UTC Great pages and tips. I would love to go to Rome and see the Colisseum, isn't that frustrating when you visit a great landmark and its' under construction inside? like the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, forever being refurbished.- Tony | Mercurio30 Tue Apr 4, 2006 14:10 UTC 20 euros ?? wow.. i see them all the day i pass there.. but i never though they was theves..i would make my excuse with you for that..u should call the police next time ;) | icunme Thu Mar 16, 2006 22:39 UTC I live here and really enjoyed your photos, information and tips.
