Getting TO/AROUND: The BTS is a convenient way to get around Bangkok. I'd say it's faster than getting in a car or a cab but sometimes the walk to the station and up and down the stairs can be tiring, too. Prices could be anywhere from 20-50 Baht for a single journey ticket, if I remember correctly depending on which station you're getting off. Best to buy a 100baht ticket if you're planning to be on the train several times in one day. Your ticket will be valid til midnight.

Getting TO/AROUND: The taxi meter starts at 35baht. It's cheap to get around the city this way but sometimes, cab drivers will take you around in circles if you don't know where you're going. Because traffic is terribly heavy in Bangkok, sometimes it's quicker to take the skytrain to where you're going.
