Nightlife Spot: Khao San Road

Although we didn't stay in this area, we were told this place is a must go so we did. At around 1am, the driver dropped us off at one end of the street and the moment we got off, we could feel the energy from the people in the streets. Food, clothes, candles, souvenirs, etc... were sold by vendors sitting on the pavement or from carts. We had a great time. At first I was a bit worried at seeing drunken teens zig zagging along and being loud and boisterous in different languages but once you let it sink in, it was actually so much fun! We walked slowly...stopping every now and then to buy something to eat like phad thai or corn on the cob or a coke. One of the guys got grabbed by the balls by a she-male and he didn't know quite how to react. He had a helpless look on his face as the others tried to extricate him from his/her clutches. It was hilarious...but he wasn't laughing. LOL.

Nightlife Spot: Cabbages and Condoms

Cabbages and Condoms is a restaurant/bar run by the Population and Community Development Association of Thailand. The food is really good and you can choose to eat in air-conditioned comfort inside or out in the patio.
Interesting to find on the walls and in their shops are educational material encouraging condom use.
After dinner, you get condoms instead of mints.
They close at 10pm.

Dress Code: There's no dress code in Bangkok. People dress casually and as comfortably as possible because of the heat and humidity.

Nightlife Spot: Ministry of Sound

A dance club playing house and techno music (not that I know anything about that). Fun place. You can't help but dance because everyone else is.
We bought a bottle of Swing for 3000baht and 5 people can get in for free.
