Well, Bogota - a little bit too cold, too rainy, too organised, too unfriendly, too European... Well, all that is compared to the Caribben coast. But the city is nice and green with lots of trees and the surrounding mountains make remind me of Budapest or Norway. They also have the Transmilenio (kind of like a subway which runs on the ground), which makes it easy and fast to go from one end of the city to the other. |
| The Gold Museum - one of the top places to visit |
| | Things to see and do Most of the sightseeing places are as usual in the Centro. Be sure to visit the Candelaria distict with nice old colonial houses, tons of churches and plazas. You really don't want to miss the Museo de Oro - the gold museum... For partying go to the Zona Rosa - the neighbourhood of rich people with lots of clubs and bars and restaurants. Monserrate is also great, especially the hike up there and it gives a great view of the city. In short - worth visiting as there are quite a lot of places to see and things to do. And be sure to go to the surrounding small towns - Guatavita, Zipaquira etc. |
