ScottyK's Utah Page

by ScottyK - last update: Sep 6, 2002

I was stationed in Utah for three years, and after getting out of the Air Force, I moved back. I love the climate, and the sunsets over the Great Salt Lake were nice. I'm just glad I wasn't there for the Olympics.

Most people think that Utah is dominated with Mormons, and for the most part they are right. But it’s a beautiful state, and once you get away from the “touristy” places and check out the back country, Utah stands out as one of the more scenic of the United States. Utah has everything, a huge Salt Lake, year round snow on the mountains, and a desert. In my experiences I’ve found the Mormon people to be helpful, courteous, and proud of their state and heritage.

Mormon or not, speeders get ticketed in Utah routinely. Locals too my friend! I always tell friends driving out to visit to stay within the speed limit. My sister was ticketed this summer twice!
