Last chance for a gyro or an Italian beef Rockford is a small city of a little more than 150,000 people originally settled by Swedish immigrants. you can still get stuff like Swedish pancakes and Scandinavian souveniers, but no one is really going to visit the town for that. More or less, if you're driving west and choose to stop in Rockford, its really the last place you will see East Coast culture before you enter the cornfields of the true Midwest. Not a lot of people go here because its not a real exciting place, but it does have some attractions. |
