Yorkey's Knob is a small town about 15 minutes north of Cairns where its possible to relax and unwind. There aren't expensive restaurants or souvenier shops. The jet set bypasses Yorkjey's Knob and the crowds of beautiful people just aren't there. What you have is endless miles of empty white beach, the ability to take part in the Cairns excursions, like diving, and the sights and smells of Australia. This isn't for everyone for, while I preferred it to Cairns, my wife definitely did not. There are fewer luxuries and less to do. nevertheless, I highly recommend a day or two up here just enjoying the beach. |

Sounds like its a real metropolis compared to Yorkey's Knob, it actually had quite a few shops, several restaurants and a couple of bars. But the beach was the same - just glorious. |
