The Rocks / Circular Quay: Oldest Pub in Sydney
  • Tip Rating:
  • Nightlife Spot: Fortune of War

Like the sign says, its the oldest pub in Sydney. Let me tell you, they make a great draft stout as well, one of the best I've ever tasted. Even though its not far from the Rocks, there is nothing conceited or snobby about this place. Feel free to wander in and relax, chat a little, no one really cares who you are, so long as you can carry a conversation or tell a joke.

The Rocks / Circular Quay: Also a hotel...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Nightlife Spot: The Glenmore.

See my accomodations tip for more, but his is another resonably priced bar with friendly clientele, a great view of the skyline and bridge, and can keep you safe while your wife shops in the Rocks.

Thanks for your nice Sydney page. I have never been there. My mother just got back 4 weeks Aussie and 2 weeks N. Zealand. Hope she gives me pics for my pages!

Good to see what your experience of Sydney was like. I completely agree with not doing a Blue Mountains tour. Do it by car is far better at leisure. Sydney as is Australia is not a good place to be rushing. Cheers DEAN
