Hello, The picture was taken in 1998, when me and friends climbed the Gávea's Rock (an 800 mts mountain). It's one of the most beautifull views of Rio. this is a unique city. Beautifull landscape where it's built on. Open and warm people, but kind of superficial sometimes. Beaches, girls, waterfalls, lakes, mountainous area, forest, etc... There are very good "botequins", unpretensious bars, to drink cold beer or "chopp" (draft beer). There is where, i think, all intelectuality and deep thoughts come to reality in Rio. You see Pão de Açúcar at center , and Rodrigo de Freitas lake just beneath it. Tiny Corcovado at center left at the back. The Guanabara Bay at back. Bottom right, the São Conrado beach. Sorry, Ipanema and Copacabana kind of hidden behind the Two Brothers Hill, at center right. And, this grey mass, left of the buildings bottom right, is the biggest slum of America, the Favela da Rocinha. Well i like living here! |
