Favorite thing: Most people see Tulum as a day trip from the more developed resorts further north (Cancun, Cozumel, Playa de Carmen etc). But there is a good infrastructure in Tulum itself to warrant staying here - the ruins, beaches, the biopshere reserve of Sian Ka'an. Tulum Crucero is a dusty little junction with a few budget hotels and basic restaurants/bars a few kms from the coast/ ruins. The coast boasts some great beaches and a relaxing ambience.
Fondest memory: Relaxing on the beaches of the Caribbean but being able to incorporate visits to the ruins and the biosphere reserve, eating great food and sipping cocktails!
