It's huge! It's noisy, dirty, polluted. But it's like no place you've ever been to before. You'll love it or hate it, its that extreme. Rarely have I heard a middle-of-the road reaction to Cairo.
An incredible 16 million people live here. It has history pouring out of every corner - the Pharoahs, the early Christians, the Moslems, the Crusaders, the the the... It is a city teeming with life - it certainly ain't been prettified for tourism. No fancy boulevards, no huge open plazas providing open views for cameras and digital videos. It's a living city - the old city simply has no room to cater for picture-postcard vistas. And with so many people, every sense is assaulted - the noise, the crowds, the smells, the sights.

The information on your Cairo page gave me a big picture of what to expect when I visit the city in October. It gave me an idea on what not to miss. Thanks for sharing.
We were blown away with Cairos pollution and crowds also but, agree, no where else like it. We loved the food though! Your photography is brilliant! Homer
One day I hope to get to Cairo. I was checking out the airfare recently for this 1 hour trip and it is incredibly high...

Cairo looks like a big chaotic city....I love it!
I've always thought the pyramids and markets as fascinating, but I probably would not care for the heat dust and crowds! More pyramids on my Broome page. Lesley
Amazing pages
So far the best pages I've seen on Cairo, or is it that we seem to be on the same wave length. Agree heartily with love it or hate it- my opinion fluctuates from week to week!
