As part of a Nile cruise, we sadly only stayed overnight in the furthest Nile destination in Upper Egypt. The main destinations were Abu Simbel and Philae (with a 4am start for Abu Simbel).
We did escape from the boat in the evening, avoiding the international food and found a pleasant little place overlooking the river (even then we couldn't make a complete break LOL) and walked through the dusty lanes and side streets with its characterful market (sadly not very busy), hoardes of children rushing around. A coffee and a nargilah with apple tobacco was also partaken. |
