Restaurant Name: Uri Buri, Akko
A delightful resturant near to the lighthouse in the old city. Two snug rooms plus a sort of entrance hall/bar/smoking section. One room is done out in a comfy semi-Arabic style, the other a more contemporary bistro style. The hall is a something of a mishmash but the whole place is easy-going. The point of this restaurant is to let the owner/chef decide for you - many courses, some small, some large, all fish or complentary salad-style, will come your way. Its not about quick eats here.

Restaurant Name: Choice
It being an Arab town, the old city of Akko has no shortage of humus and felafel places! They tend to be found nearer to the two north western gates (there are 3 gates into the old city), which are the main gates used by locals and tourists (nearer to the everyday use of the old city such as the market, the large mosques etc..). Whilst they may not be the best or cheapest in Akko, tend to head for Abu Elias or Abu George for humus - they're next door to each other on Al Jazzar St (next to the entrance to the mosque). NIS 25 will but you humus, chips, salad with the ever present pitta. They're pretty much the same, with most of their seating outside. Abu Elias has more outdoor space and is great to people watch - most visitors to Akko will walk past you at some point :) And it certainly beats the overpriced fish restaurants near to the Harbour and Sea Walls!
