Ao Nang is about 30 minutes by sawngthaew (pick-up truck) from the town of Krabi. Essentially a long strip of beach with 2 or 3 roads, it is very much the alternative to the developed Phuket. While there are several hotels, bars and restaurants along this strip, it has yet to be over-developed. And for those who want to get away from hotel strip style holidays but also want something more than a beach and total solitude, Ao Nang is a great option. |
