Mexico city, build on the dried out Lago de Texcoco in the Vallede Mexico. It is an immense big city with around 20 million people living there.
It was first founded by the Aztecs, but the spanish build a cathedral on the biggest temple, so not much remained, but next to the cathedral you can still see some ruins.
Mexico is a beautifull city, but limit your stay just to 4 days because if you are not used to it, the always present smog will get to you.
Just go to Mexico city and enjoy all it has to offer.
