When we first got to Mal Pais, we were greeted by perfect waves which we were after, but the reason we went there is that we could combine the waves with the rainforrest.
And it wasn't a bad call, the suroundings are beautifull, people are friendly, and there is no care in the world.

Pros and Cons

Pros:outside of the season not too many tourist
Cons:can be expensive

We were there one week ago and they've just changed the administration. The food is fantastic, fresh fish and a sublime red wine sauce to die for and the restaurant with a nice rancho by the pool is very pleasant for an alfresco dinner
