Also on the coach tour before the boat trip on the Danube, we took a ride through Vienna Woods. We started off in Grinzing which is a small village with old houses and small lanes, but its most famed for its wine. Beethoven's house is also here. One of many throughout Vienna, he never used to pay his rent, so a many early morning escapes were made to evade the landlords.

Our first stop on our trip through the Vienna Woods was at a panoramic viewpoint in Cobenzl. It is from here that you can see over the city of Vienna, however to capture a good picture you need a pretty strong lens and a good clear day. Which I did not. At this point there is also a restaurant which looks pretty fancy (I did not have time to go in)

The restaurant is behind gates, with chickens roaming free in the gardens. We only had five minutes off the coach before we had to get back in. Basically enough time to take a picture and then go off to the next place. Although I saw a lot of Vienna in the little time I had for which I am grateful, I did not like taking a guided tour. However, beggars can't be choosers.

This picture taken on the way down from the Vienna Woods, in the distance is the village of Klosterneuburg which is mostly famousfor the 12th century monastery of which there are tours daily at 9am, noon, 1pm and 5pm.

It is always nice to get out of the city and see some greenery.

As there were limited stops on the coach tour, I found myself having to take pictures of the beautiful Vienna countryside from the coach window. I was lucky that they didn't come out to badly. But I hate having to do this.
