Was looking forward to being able to spend a few years working in Beijing; and so learn to be fully articultae in Putonghua; use this as the base to get to Mongolia , points on the Silk Routes, Xian, Vladivostok and more; but some things just do not fall into place; a pity.....
but did have my first experience of snow plus -10C with chilling Artic winds that was my first experience of Wind Chill temperatures, well below 0C...
did have a good taste of Roast Duck, should've seen the Great Wall under snow, but the SA Rand lack conversion power...
managed to stay at one of the older Hotels near the Zoo and Russia Built expo Centre.
another visit is a must, when.... i wish i knew....
maybe Mao with his Red Book may provide the inspiration.... .......... ........ ...... ...... ... ... . . |
