"Time for another visit" Stellenbosch by kenHuocj

Having spent three Years in and out of Cape Town and Surroundings, with visit over the years since 1950, the scenic beauty, the fruit, seafoods, WINES and people regularly remind me and leaves me pondering of why i never settled there.

In my email box this morning, found the beautiful photo of SA's other claim to fame, game - not football, rugby nor cricket nor juskei but Game brought back to where they originally roamed freely before the 17th century.

This is an aspect of the environmentally sensitive Grier family, whose Villiera Winery came to the fore in 1995 when Jeff Grier was John Platter Wine Man of the year.

Whilst this winery is just off the old Paarl rod, it is only 13.4 kms north of Stellenbosch ob the R304

the French Huguenots settled here brought with them their Viticulture, but the Stellenbosch University is famed. So also for the Anton Rupert whose Rembrandt Group was based here. Bergleder Cellars here and that of KWV Cathedral Cellars in Paarl are both large and worthy of a visit for all interested in Wines and growth in S Africa, - and Tasting too
