watching san marco in daylight and night is always nice for us. wander around and see the bell towers and the ambience of 'busy' venice by adriatic sea is somewhat rewarding after our journey by train in destination milan - zagreb.

exploring saint mark cathedral. the murals are beautiful. and the patron of saint mark himself that delivered by venetian merchants to replaced the previous patron of venice. at the roof, can be seen the replicas of bronze horses from byzantium. they kept the originals in the museum nearby in the complex of saint mark's cathedral.

one of our fave church in venice is ... saint george cathedral. from venice mainland, can be seen the gorgeous dome of san giorgio maggiore. and beautiful murals in its roof. and going there is romantic by the canal of venice to direction open sea.

the white cathedral within walking distance from hotel tulip inn scandinavia. apart from another churches in venice, this one looks so simple but charming. made from white bricks.

yes, true ... it's so romantic to take a ride over the canals [rio] of venice by a gondola whilst the driver's singing "barchetta mia .... santa lucia ..." and ohhh! so expensive for our wallet :)

there are several islands of the lagoon of venice and it's worth visiting. including where saint giorgio maggiore cathedral and madonna della salute and the ghetto and murano glassmakers are located. separated from saint mark cathedral by the lagoon. in murano, can be seen the artworkers making beautiful glassware and anykind of glasses souvenirs. such as sweets immitations and gas baloons.

murano island is situated at laguna veneta of venice. the reputation of their glassmakers already spread worldwide. it's cool to see the glassmakers are doing glassblowing.

stroll along from santa lucia to direction san zaccharia and san zulian was very nice. after grand canal [canale grande] and the rio [smaller canals] can be found so many gorgeous bridges. and the activity at canale grande itself is so interesting. shophouses, cafe, hotels and casinos can be found here.
