Illuminated Cat's Eye | Views of Dataran Merdeka (c) ukirsari |
Spending my time here, mostly field of working related. As I am a bloody journo and Kuala Lumpur [KL] has a F1 circuit called Sepang International Circuit, I'd been in KL to covers the event and of course, interviews with the drivers.
So, how much time left? Not so much. But I keep in my mind. Finding her old buildings is a must and lucky me, Dataran Merdeka made my dream come true :) I do enjoy my last time visit on KL, since I have opportunity to make old buildings pictures serie and it's absolutely out of field in working, yiiippppiiiii. So I tell to myself, "Well @rie, the story about Air Mata Kucing is enough." Why Air Mata Kucing means so much for me? Since at the past moments, in my limited times on KL, I had to make priority; to the circuit, back to the hotel, interviews, dadeedadeeda and in the end, going to Chinatown and find Air Mata Kucing as the main thirst quencher [can be translated into English as tear drops of the cat. Kinda like mocktail, dark brown into black in color, with vanilla and coffee flavor and added with diced longan in it. And I make a joke to a friend of mine, Ariff from Sepang Circuit, "So, how many cat have to cry so we can drink this Air Mata Kucing?"]. Now, my KL page is more than Air Mata Kucing :) And I finally found that Airmata Kucing is kinda local tree ~ similar with longan ~ which has 'illuminated' leaves. So it's seems like cat's eye in the dark of the forest. Hmmm, truely romantic explaination ;) |
| @rie @ Petronas Twin by Ahram |
| | Everybody is doing this, so why can't we? [title taken from an album of The Cranberries] Yes, not to be missed if going to KL is taking picture with Petronas Twin Towers. Remember about a scene in 'Entrapment' [Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sean Connery], I and Ahram ~ a Lebanese buddy traveller of mine ~ tried to have a complete picture; us, one by one and the whole of two towers. But seems too difficult, Man. Even he already lies on the ground, hahahha. But whatever, we did it and enjoy so much :) |
| @rie and Alex Yoong by Nanang Baso |
| | Alex Yoong Here are several fave place of mine on visiting KL: ~ Moorish Building at train Station [1911] and Malayan Railway Administration Building ~ Masjid Jamek and the riverbank of Sungai Klang and Gombak [1907] ~ Sultan Abdul Samad Building [1897] ~ Dataran Merdeka and around ~ Chinatown ~ Golden Triangle * And of course I remember, KL also a hometown of Alex Yoong [Alexander Loong Yoong], one of Malaysia's talented driver. He'd been join Minardi F1 Team years ago and now became driver instructor for Formula BMW and touring cars in South East Asia Region. Good luck with your career Al, and thanks for your nice hospitality during my interviews in Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and continuously mails :) |
