java jive, karimun jawa ...

[java jive, gerangan cinta, 1995]

seems just yesterday ... puffin and dalphin start their nice holiday in the 'lost hidden treasure' of java >> karimunjawa. literally in javanese means "the shadow imagine from million distant away place". every single beaches here is treasure, always give their own scenery. never be the same, laying in among 27 small islands. dalphin said, like in la dique, praline or somewhere in seychelles. and puffin replied "can be everything and it was surprised since still in the area of java."

puffin got her first snorkelling with beloved dalphin and dolphino a.k.a dolfino. bites by spiky ones so called "duri babi" and got panic. but it's nothing compared with palm trees, sunrise and sunset, coral reefs in conservation, floating cabin, our "welcome" thunderstorm and high tide, seafood meals, sea creatures from shark, jellyfish, stingray [not yet mantaray, sweetheart puffin :)], starfish, anchovy, crabs, hawksbill turtle, pelican and hornbill and meet our baby ikan belutak or number one enemy jabba the hutt. puffin did remember very well, asking dalphin's binoculars to see the craters in the half moon and laying on the pier. enjoy every single moment whenever electricity shut-down and singing "this little piggy going to the market, this little piggy stayed at home, this little piggy got roasted beef, this little piggy had none and this little piggy run all the way homeeeeeeeee". anything great, even dalphin had dependency into glyco 2 mg and puffin have to eat 'rabbit drops' 2 - 3 times per day and both of us got halucination [caused by the medicines] .... green mice and hand weaving and glittering of everything :D

in 1995, java jive launched their masterpiece 'gerangan cinta' [is this love?] and the charming lyrics made me half drunken about. i mean, how can be so 'glittering' and warm if you have that feeling, no matter if 'the world will ended tomorrow' nor 'the earth will divided into 2'. just flowing like puffin learn from dalphin about snorkelling and everything will be fine. 10 years after java jive's great song ... i have my own gerangan cinta and i know how to be grateful. thanks for unforgetable birthday gift, dalphin. i love you!

KARIMUN JAWA: the lost treasure of java mainland and sea

We just back from our memorable hols in karimun jawa [taken from javanese lingo ?kremun-kremun saka jawa? or the shadow image from the very far away distance of java mainland] and want to share our experience to all of you. hoping can give some valuable infos.
- stand from 27 islands, the karimun jawa archipelago included in karimun jawa national park [sea marine life]. it?s like a hidden treasure for those who loves marine life. we can find protected coral reefs [very colourful plateaus and plains in deep and shallow waters], secluded and tranquil white beaches [seems no-one there before us ;)], pelican and hornbill, seagrass and kinds of sea creatures, from crabs, anchovy, spiky ones ?duri babi?, starfish, sharks, stingray, jellyfish, red snappers, etc.
- several nice small-tiny islands we?d been there were pulau burung [bird conservatory], pulau galeang, pulau menjangan besar, pulau menjangan kecil, pulau cemara besar, pulau cemara kecil also ujung gelam [the extension of karimun jawa besar] for swimming and snorkeling.
- if you like to stay at the mainland, in karimun besar island, there are many local guest houses along the way from harbour to direction ujung gelam.
- if you like to try something different like sea gypsy ;) as we did, there are several floating wooden cabins available in the heart of the sea with pulau karimun besar as entry point. our contact is pak joko (62-297) 312185. beside room, he provided meals and renting boat plus crew, approximately idr 300,000/day. we enjoyed his place very much since there?s no tv and karaoke and whenever asked to switch-off the electricity, nightfall feel so glittering under the moonlight and stars. plus the sounds from waves, sea breeze and swells [no wonder, i am stil in post holiday blues whenever write about this!!!!!!]
- for getting there and away, there are 2 entry points: from semarang [tanjung mas harbour] or jepara [pantai kartini harbour]. here i included the time schedule and subject maybe change without notification. check it out in advance before your departure:
- jepara ? karimun jawa: monday and wednesday [kmp], 09.00 am
- karimun jawa ? semarang: sunday [kmc], 02.00 pm
- karimun jawa ? jepara: thursday [kmp], 09.00 am
- semarang ? karimun jawa: monday and saturday [kmc] 09.00 am
- marks:

b. kmp >> kapal motor perintis [named muria, appr. 5 hours sailing]

Hallo Dik ukirsari. Piye kabare? Wis suwe ora ketemu.
Thanks for the info. Karimun Jawa has been on my "must do" list for a long time. I'm back in Jawa in August so hopefully I have a chance to take the boat over.

# 1 >> hallo mas siap sangkur, kabarku apik-apik bae. yo bener, wis suwe tenan ra ketemu. lha sliramu nang endi bae tho, kok ra njedul-njedul nang PM ku [hahahahaa, hoping you're not confuse with my mixed east and central java accent, it will be great to be understood :)] you're most welcome about the info. yes, you should be there [or better i say "have to go there" or "put this in your must do list"? :)]. the nature and sea marine condition is good. super trip. and thunderstorm became our "welcome greetings" from karimunjawa. our jemuran sarung was flying by the wind, but funny since we find it in another day, not so far from the place i'd been put into :D
if you go by august, will stay nice. as long as you don't take the trip on musim barat [west season] or monsoon -- changing weather into east wind [november to february] since tidal waves make the condition quite rough. kmc kartini provided by pt pal indonesia was slick and kewl [remind me with jetfoil :)] but kmp muria was nice and laid back! mugi-mugi mas sangkur enggal cepet dumugi karimunjawa :)

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:proudly said as an unspoilt national marine park in java. so laid-back and serene ... want to be here longer ....
  • Cons:dunno the condition will be the same if cement bricks blossoming like mushrooms in rainy season :(
