I guess if you're going to spend more than 10 minutes in Bangkok, you'd probably go to the Grand Palace anyway. I just have to reiterate: it's an excellent place to visit. There are usually guides hanging out outside that will show you around for about 100 Baht per person. It's worth it for the better understanding you'll get, I think.
