Getting TO/AROUND: The public transportation system in the Philippines may be difficult to unravel for the uninitiated. Public buses and jeepneys ply all the major routes in Metro Manila, but tourist will best find their way via taxi, hotel limousines or tourist bus. For visitors with the time, inter-island traveling by sea can be refreshing and relaxing. The country's flag carrier, Philippine Airlines, offers domestic flights to 72 destinations all over the country. Hotel cars, limousines, taxis and air-conditioned airport buses are available. Air-conditioned car service from the airport to manila Hotel cost about P400 regular taxi will be paid upon the meter. Longer trips will be paid for additional rate but make sure to ask the fixed rate before you go. Always paid what the meter rate will be mainly the meter start at P25. ... but due to price hike... bus fare, taxi fare and all kinds of transportation here are all gone up... whew! dollar is getting up and oil prices getting up too... economic problem...we have no choice? do we?
