Isla de Los Lobos is a little island off the north coast of Fuerteventura. The former name of the island is Magi-Mani. It was used as a hiding place for pirates and slave traders. It owes its name to heards of seals that used to stopover on the island on their travels. Lobos means wolves but in this case it refers to lobos marinos,or seals.
Pyroclastic rocks, loose volcanic products such as tephrite and tuff largely cover the island and the highest point is 122m above sea level, with a coast line of cliffs.
There is a restaurant on the island but it does close one day so you need to check at Correlejo port before booking.
The sea from the island to fuerteventura is reasonably shallow (no more than 17m)so scuba diving and snorkeling is popular you might see the stingray, parrot fish, barracuda sea bass and horse mackeral.
