Cruising the Nile

A Nile felucca
Luxor is a modern town which is visited by millions of tourists each year all wanting to see the magnificent ancient Egyptian sights. Tourism in Luxor accounts for most of the economy and there are plenty of major hotels sited along the East bank of the Nile. Most visitors are likely to be staying on one of the many cruise ships moored in Luxor before they head off up the Nile valley stopping at all the major sights along the way.
M/S Nile Sovereign
My husband Gary, myself and our friends Sarah and Jon recently returned from a weeks holiday cruising the River Nile. Our boat, the Nile Sovereign, is one of the 350 cruise boats that ply visitors to all the sights along the Nile between Luxor and Aswan.
I think that a Nile cruise is a great way to see the sights and a wonderful country. The Egyptians seemed to be genuinely friendly although at times we were harassed for baksheesh. Some of the people are poor and as tourists we must seem to have plenty of money-they are only trying to make a living so who can blame them.
I loved the whole of the Egyptian experience and I hope that you enjoy reading of our experiences, and looking at my photographs of the fantastic temples and places we visited.
I hope to return someday

Very nice story about your Nile cruise. Brings back memories of my trip there last year! I took a flight to abu simbel from aswan and it was only 30 minutes. But i am sure in coach, there was more to see on the way there
