Originally from Altrincham in Cheshire, I now live in the Lake District in Northern England in the small market town of Ulverston.
Ulvertson is the birth place of Stan Laurel of Laurel and Hardy fame. and boasts the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the UK, which I believe, constantly shows their films.
Ulverstons other best known feature is that of Hoad monument, which is a replica of the Eddystone Lighthouse. The views from the top of Hoad are extensive looking out over both Morecambe Bay and the Lake District fells.
The Lake District is very picturesque, and each Lake has its own special qualities.

My husband Gary and I enjoy our travels and get a lot of pleasure from meeting people everywhere. I hope that you enjoy reading about my travels as much as I have enjoyed travelling.

I love my camera!

I take my camera just about everywhere and love taking pictures. Gary tends to let me get on with it-he does not take any pictures unless he has to. Hes very useful though as he carries the extra lens and holds things whilst I am changing lenses. All the pictures on my pages are my own unless otherwise stated. Some of my pictures have been scanned from prints, but I have now made the move to digital so hopefully the quality of the pictures on my pages will improve.

Over the years we have been together, Gary and I have seen some beautiful places.
A few years ago we decided to venture a little further afield and headed off to Bangkok and Pattaya for a couple of weeks. We were hooked-it was the start of a long lasting love affair with the Far East. Since that first trip we have returned to Bangkok several times and have since visited Bali, Yogyakarta, Phuket, Hong Kong, Singapore Langkawi and Penang.

As you can see each year we are drawn back to the Far East and this year is no exception-in July we are returning to Thailand with our friends Richard and Jenny.

I am now totally addicted to VT-I have seen some terrific pages and pictures and read some great tips-even on places I never knew existed!
I have tried to be honest with my tips -but please dont take it out on me if you dont like somewhere I may have, everyone is different. It is interesting to hear other opinions though.
I am still in the process of building some of my pages and some are more complete than others-I hope you enjoy reading them.
