When I arrived at Steamboat on a grey December day in 2002 I almost couldn't see the mountain. I was standing on the parking lot and saw a wall of clouds. But who cares. Lots of clouds means fresh snow. And fresh snow means fun on the runs. I entered the chair lift up to Storm Peak and had a fantastic powder day. It remained cloudy and foggy the whole day. But the snow was awesome. A new feet-high layer of dry powder. I did some first tracks between the trees. |
