| On the mountains around Mayrhofen |
Mayrhofen is home to some great ski areas. The "Ski Zillertal 3000" ski area is a foundation of several different areas around Mayrhofen. You can enjoy all of them with one lift ticket. That gives you access to 147 kilometers of trails, 45 lifts and gondolas and 27 huts and restaurants on the mountain. Ski Zillertal rises up to 2500 meters. The resort includes "Harakiri", the steepest groomed ski run of Austria. A day pass for the area cost around 32 Euro. If you add some bucks you do have access to the glacier Hintertux, too. The glacier can be reached by a 40 minutes bus ride.
The town of Mayrhofen is a typical tourist town. Lots of hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, shops and Apres Ski locations. Mayrhofen has almost 3700 citizens.
