For lots of tourists Mallorca is just a party destination for summer vacation. Especially in the areas of Arenal (mainly German tourists), Magalluf (mainly British tourists), Cala Millor, Cala Ratjada and Alcudia most of the tourist come to relax at the beach and to party at night.
Well, there is nothing bad about that, but there is certainly more to see in Mallorca than just bars, clubs and crowded beaches.
The west coast of the island is a mountain region with some summits reaching up 1400 meters. Away from the coastal hotel towns you can find small fincas.
My hint: rent a car and explore the island. Or get a bicycle and do the same on two wheels. Mallorca is well-known for its cycling tradition. Lots of hobby and professional cyclists regularly visit. |
