I did want to visit Macedonia, since its born as an independent country. Anyway only this year I have visited it. My choice was Gevgelia, and this my selection was really random. I have seen the map of this country in a book of european railways, and that small map only show three towns: Skopje, Veles and Gevgelia. Then, I have selected Gevegelia as this way I would cross all the country. I was travelling by train coming from Croatia, that means entering in Macedonia by the north border, and Gevgelia is just in the southern part of the country, very near to the border with Greece.
