Quebec, only fortified city in north america, was founded in 1608 by Samuel De Champlain. It has a very dominant French culture which gives it a very unique feel and atmosphere.
From the Carnaval de Québec (The biggest winter Carnival in the world) to the Polliwog music festival, the region has over 40 scheduled public events. Fun for all ages!
Also, you will find only a few minutes away (by car) beautifull natural wonders. The St-Lawrence river is omnipresent all around the city. The Montmorency Falls ( 30 METERS TALLER THAN THE NIAGARA), L'ile D'orlean, the famous island that belonged to poet Felix Leclerc and numerous mountains for all-season pleasure.
The city also holds numerous museum, cultural venues etc. And is the only place in america to hold an hotel MADE OF ICE!!
Personally, this is my favorite city to be in.
Please feel free to write for more details or simply to post a comment.
Have a great day!

Deus

Great tips, Deus, thanx!
Your page has convinced me that Quebec will be the next trip I take (and also the last for awhile until our baby is born!). But what is Poutine? A better Elvis show than in Vegas, this I have to see!
Aaaah! Quebec. I hope to return one day. Love the city. Need more time to explore it fully. My father's family is from just north of there.
Thanks for your insight into this amazing city, hope to visit next year
I was just watching the bats flying round my garden - they are attracted to the moths - who are fluttering round the buddleia bush! :))
nice tips
What is known in Québec as "Tire d'érable" is translated as maple taffy, made from maple syrup let to evaporate a little longer and that takes its gooey caramel like texture when cooled on snow...
Beautiful pictures and write ups. I'm a Canadian but have never been to Quebec. It makes me cold just thinking of an ice hotel. Diane
A lot of nice places in Quebec !I'd love to see the ice hotel Lesley
The wealth of info in here is fantastic! That Absolut Bar sounds like it was custom-made for me :) Thx for the fun-filled ride through Quebec, Loan. Cheers... Siddharth
