a meeting - that's what drew me there - with worldtrekker. only that his plans suffered a little change - so i decided to go ahead and visit interlaken anyway. I arrived, spent a night there and early in the morning on i went to the top of europe, the jungfraujoch - with miserable weather and zero visibility.
i got back down - stop off in kleine scheidegg, where it wasnice and sunny-ish - thinking of hiking the eiger trail - when my mobile rang: worldtreeker live from interlaken - and darn, i was half way up the mountain. Hike abandoned - train back down into town - finally met ernst! FThanks mate, i really had a fun time.

freethinker: i like indian food - only the restaurant is not noted for its food. have a try and taste yur worst indian meal.
Why ridiculous?Surely food lovers will enjoy it insted of having boring burgers and salads in holidays.Some of the indian resturants really know the art of making grand gala dishes.Hope"Bollywood" will present such an enjoyable lunch at the top of Europe.
Grindelwald tacky? Well maybe but expensively tacky .. is there a word for that? Great prose though Rhia.
I have been to the Jungfraujoch, and there were actually 4 restaurants (including the Bollywood) and a cafeteria. I ate rather well, maybe if you are vegetarian you do not have many choices.
You are right: Interlaken itself does not have too much to see, it is more the surroundings that make this place special! And the hospital - I had to spend one week there once!
