Name of Shop: bazzars and markets, everywhere
anywhere... everywhere... markets or bazaars... colourful... authentic or touristy... it doesn't matter... incense is always sold.
What To Buy: colourful and perfumed incense... there's a really wide selection... all shapes, all perfumes... you'll find something you like
What To Pay: for the ones in the picture, 5 bags for 100 baht, without bargaining (too lazy)

Name of Shop: bazaars and markets
any market or bazaar selling fabrics would do. If you ask the vendor he or she probably can make you a dress exactly like you want it. You just have to draw the sort of dress you'd like, chose the fabrics.. they'll take your measures... and go back a few hours later or the following day to pick it up.
What To Buy: silk fabrics and taylor-made dresses or outfits
What To Pay: for a dress and silk, handmade, at a market, I paid about 800 baht

Name of Shop: wat chedi luang and doi suitep
Normally it's not a shop but an artisan near a temple... and you can watch him while he creates these buddha images by perforating buffalo skins.
What To Buy: images of the buddha, but also pastoral or rural scenes, or elephants. the majority are black - but some are painted later in bright colours
What To Pay: about 100 baht for a small one (10x15 cm) and about 700 baht for a large one (50x70 cm)
