the garden of the inn

Despite the name it's not a campground but a nice inn with a large garden and 15 rooms in tiny bungalows. The entire inn is surrounded by lush gardens with plenty of flowers, a little lake, a river, and a great terrace that serves as a restaurant.

Unique Qualities: hot natural mineral water in the room and wonderful mineral hot water pools outside each block of bungalows.
The place is quiet, heavenly quiet.

Vitoon Guesthouse: nice rooms and charming owners - a wonderful choice and right outside the historical park: so you can wake up in the morning, open your eyes, and fill your sense with the sight of the ruins

Unique Qualities: Charming owners and spotless rooms for 250 baht (fan) and 500 baht (air con).
They also rent bikes for 20 baht a day, and sometimes they just give them to you for free.

mountain view

The mountain view has really nice, clean, and cosy cottages and rooms. They are cheap, too: Mrs Dong charges 350 baht for air-con rooms in a cottage and 250 baht with fan in the main building.

Unique Qualities: My little corner of heaven: cosy cottages surrounded by lush vegetation in the middle of the city: wonderful and quiet.

charming suk11

I found my little quiet and extremely friendly home away from home in Sukhumvit, at a backpacker's hostel called Suk11. Prices start from 250 bhat including a bottle of water and a delicious help-yourself breakfast.

Unique Qualities: It's set in an old traditional wooden thai house with many cosy common areas with traditional furniture: plus the owners are real darlings.
